Besse sur Issole’s geographical location is ideal for touring and visiting Provence. 40 minutes from the beaches, 45 minutes from the Porquerolles islands, 1.5 hours from the Gorges du Verdon and Lac Sainte-Croix. 1 hour from Marseille and 1? hours from Nice. Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez can be reached in 1 hour. Maison Saint-Louis is a former 17th-century abbey converted into a bed & breakfast. Nestled in the historic heart of the village of Besse sur Issole, it enjoys a typically Provencal atmosphere. Just a 2-minute walk from shops and the market that takes place every Wednesday in the square, with its fountains, plane trees, belfry and magnificent cinema, Le Marilyn, one of the last remaining neighborhood cinemas of yesteryear. Take the small main street with its succession of small shops, and you’ll come to the other square, with its cast-iron Marianne fountain guiding its inhabitants towards freedom with its torch. Around this square, restaurants, bars and the press make this a place where strollers flock. Park your car in one of the parking lots provided and stroll or relax on one of the shady terraces… It’s Provencal village life! In the area around Besse sur Issole, you can enjoy hiking, tennis and golf. In summer, generous, well-balanced breakfasts are served under my arbour shaded by a Virginia creeper vine. The atmosphere is serene. In winter, we open the doors to our living room. Our 5 rooms are equipped with shower rooms or bathrooms with private toilets. All have 160cm-wide bedding, and some have televisions.
