Routes and itineraries of all levels and types, and "le Var à vélo" events taking place all year round: whether you're a road, electric or mountain biker, our department will meet your expectations.Observe the diversity of the Var's landscapes while passing by tourist sites and hilltop villages by following one or more of the Var's major cycling itineraries.

Le Mas des Romarins (Fayence); Villa Thalassa (Le Lavandou)
Cycling in the Mediterranean crosses the Haut Var over 135 km from east to west. This is the French section of EuroVélo 8, one of Europe’s longest cycle routes, linking 12 European countries and stretching 7,560km from Cadiz in southern Spain through Greece and Turkey to Cyprus.

On the Var section, the route is signposted from Meyrargues to the Bouches-du-Rhône / Var departmental boundary. It is recommended for experienced cyclists, as some parts of the route are quite challenging! A 258 km adventure through sublime villages, breathtaking panoramas and forested massifs: this is the Verdon bike tour.

This loop will take you past emblematic Provencal sites you won’t soon forget: Gréoux-les-Bains, Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, Lac d’Esparron with its sublime viewpoints, the Valensole plateau, which in season is decked out in the colors of lavender, the Artuby river, and of course the Gorges du Verdon.

This is the Var section of a route currently under construction that aims to link Aigues-Mortes (Gard) to Nice, passing through 3 major metropolitan areas: Aix-Marseille-Provence, Toulon-Provence-Méditerranée and Nice-Côte d’Azur, while showcasing the natural diversity of the Mediterranean coastline.

Combine your passion for cycling with wine tasting by following the itinerary of «Cycling through the vineyards ». Discover winegrowing in a different way with the “caves coopératives et vignerons” tourist circuit and its establishments renowned for their awards or period architecture. You’ll also find the most environmentally-friendly products as you travel through the Haut-Var, the heart of the Var and the seaside on the tour of organic winegrowing estates.
Le Clos des Cambres (Les Arcs-sur-Argens)
If you’re traveling by mountain bike, you’ll find over a hundred routes to discover the Var! Our department is home to two FFC mountain-biking bases (Hyères and Provence Verdon), so you can practice in the conditions that suit you best.

Plus three Bike Parks and a Pump Track. We regularly organize mountain bike events, and if you’re planning to visit us in October, you’ll be able to attend the Roc d’Azur, Europe’s biggest mountain bike event, held in Fréjus!
